About Us

Living in a small knotty pine cabin in East Bethel, Minnesota, Kevin Schminkey and his daughter Kayla  hand-make  Schmink Copper Fountains.       

Together, they enjoy a back to the basics, simple conservative life style that harmonizes with nature. Being admirers of the outdoors, they have great appreciation for the sounds and sights of nature. 

Kevin  was born and raised in  Minnesota.

He is a custom cabinet maker by trade, and has had a passion for creating and inventing since he was a child.

Since then he has created many of his ideas, among them are: custom furniture and aquariums, Human Powered Recumbent Vehicles, and a three-wheeled sports car  that banks in the turns (DOT approved). For pictures check out Schmink's Garage Link.

Kayla his daughter was the inspiration behind the fountains. Being a single father and working long irregular hours and  usually some distance away, it was  difficult at times to spend any time with her. Being at home every night and being able to see her to and from school every day was important, so the fountains help to provide an enjoyable means of support.

Kayla and my granddaughter Davie are Papa's helpers, they enjoys helping in every way they can, from pounding and adjusting leaves, to testing each one (playing in the water) and giving them their stamp of approval.
